- 2-3 lb chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 lemon (zest and slices)
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 bunch asparagus

1. Arrange the chicken thighs evenly in the slow cooker.
2. Pour in the 1/2 cup chicken stock.
3. In a small bowl, mix the 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp oregano, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp black pepper, and 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes.
4. Sprinkle the spice mix all over the chicken thighs.
5. Zest the lemon, then slice it into thin rounds.
6. Scatter the lemon zest over the chicken and lay the lemon slices on top.
7. Slice the 4 tbsp butter and place pieces over the lemon slices.
8. Sprinkle the 4 crushed garlic cloves over everything.
9. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours.
10. Add the bunch of asparagus during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
11. Cook until the chicken is very tender and the asparagus is just done, then serve with some of the cooking juices spooned over the top.
