🥗 Ingredients
For the patties:
- 500g ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp mustard
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp oil (for frying)
For the gravy:
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
👨🍳 Instructions
1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper
2. Mix well and form into 4 oval-shaped patties
3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown patties 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through. Set aside
4. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat
5. Add sliced onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes
6. Add mushrooms and cook until golden, another 4-5 minutes
7. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir to coat, cook 1 minute
8. Gradually pour in beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps
9. Add Worcestershire sauce, season with salt and pepper, and stir
10. Bring gravy to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 3-4 minutes
11. Return patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over them
12. Simmer together for 5 more minutes and serve
