6.7 oz/190 g onion
4 stalks of green onion
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp sugar
4 cloves of garlic
16.9 oz/480 g beef
2 tsp soy sauce
2 1/4 tsp dark soy sauce
3/4 tsp oyster sauce
3/4 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
4 1/2 tsp corn starch
3 tsp oil
1 1/2 tsp sesame oil
3 tbsp oil for cooking
3 tsp dark soy sauce (for sauce)
1 1/2 tsp oyster sauce (for sauce)
1 1/2 tbsp cooking wine
1/3 cup water
Black pepper
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Prep the vegetables: Slice the onion, cut the green onion into sections, and mince the garlic.
2. Marinate the beef: Slice the beef thinly. Mix with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, baking soda, corn starch, oil, and sesame oil. Let it marinate.
3. Cook the onion: Heat 3 tbsp oil in a wok until very hot. Stir fry the onion with salt and sugar until slightly softened. Set aside.
4. Cook the beef: In the same wok with more oil if needed, stir fry the marinated beef over high heat until just cooked through. Work in batches if needed.
5. Combine and finish: Return the onion to the wok. Add the green onion, garlic, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, cooking wine, and water. Toss everything together. Season with black pepper. Serve immediately.
